We are seeking a detail-oriented Chemist I to join a dynamic testing laboratory on a 100% onsite, 2nd shift schedule (Wednesday-Saturday, 2:00 PM - 12:30 AM). This is a high-impact, 6-month contract role with temp-to-perm potential, offering an excellent opportunity to perform essential analytical chemistry testing within a compliant GMP environment.

responsibilities:

• Independently perform and verify simple to moderately complex laboratory testing on API, raw materials, in-process samples, and finished drug products.
• Interpret analytical data accurately to determine strict conformance to specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve routine analytical technique and instrumentation issues independently.
• Budget time effectively to manage multiple testing priorities and ensure timely product release.
• Maintain meticulous documentation and communicate proactively with supervisors to support laboratory audits and compliance.

qualifications:
Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in a scientific discipline (0-4 years of experience) OR an Associate Degree with at least 3 years of direct laboratory experience.
• Direct hands-on laboratory experience utilizing analytical chemistry techniques.
• Solid understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and strict adherence to documentation standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to work the required 2nd shift schedule: Wednesday-Saturday, 2:00 PM - 12:30 AM (includes weekends).

Preferred:

• Technical proficiency or exposure to LC, LCMS, GC, GCMS, ICP, Empower software, Karl Fischer, dissolution, IR, or wet chemistry titrations.
