Assistant Branch Manager

Responsibilities Support acquisition, development, and retention of branch sales and operations associates. Manage the branch in the Branch Manager’s absence. Assist the manager in developing strategies to drive branch sales and profitability. Co‑ordinate procurement, inventory control, shipping & receiving, warehousing, and sales in accordance with company policies. Resolve branch‑level problems, investigate customer complaints (damaged items, overcharges, shipment/delay issues). Make necessary resource adjustments and inventory discrepancy corrections. Serve customers and support counter and inside sales functions as needed. Ensure all sales orders are billed correctly and timely. Schedule staff and analyze budgets and variances. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Generally 5+ years of experience in branch or retail operations. Experience in construction supply, building materials, or industrial distribution environments. Working knowledge of branch operations, inventory control, order fulfillment, and warehouse processes. Experience supporting or leading front‑line teams (warehouse, counter, inside sales). Demonstrated ability to resolve customer issues and operational challenges in a fast‑paced environment. Proficiency with ERP or order management systems (Oracle preferred). Understanding of sales drivers, margins, and branch‑level performance metrics. Familiarity with safety standards and OSHA‑regulated environments. Bilingual (Spanish/English) and forklift experience preferred. Ability to operate a company vehicle or personal vehicle for more than 20% of the work week; an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report is required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
