About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours (06:45 - 19:15) Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience required License: Must have active state license in hand or be in the application process to apply Certifications: BLS required, CNOR preferred Must-Have: General OR and Trauma experience required; Level I trauma experience required; Cerner experience preferred Description: Please review submission instructions and provide answers upon request. Position involves working in an operating room. The schedule is three 12-hour shifts, primarily on weekends. There are 23 operating rooms. Candidates must have a minimum of three years’ experience. First-time travelers are not accepted. Candidates are required to be on-call one week, though this is infrequent. Occasional floating within the skill set may be necessary. No block scheduling is available. Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to apply. All requested time off must be approved by management. The facility may call off up to 36 hours per assignment without payment for those hours. General Requirements include experience with all service lines, except cardiovascular. Special requirements include various surgical case experiences such as laparoscopic and general surgery case skills. Knowledge of emergency management skills and equipment handling is also required. Interdisciplinary support may be provided through various teams including respiratory services and social services. The facility is a Level I trauma center. This position requires adherence to infection control and universal protocol policies. Candidates will be responsible for the administration of blood products and specimen handling. Professional knowledge in patient safety and procedure protocols is essential. Candidates must confirm availability for interviews upon submission.
