ASCP Group Specialist - Psychiatric Care

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region as a Group Specialist providing therapeutic group interventions within an acute psychiatric services setting. Certification and Licenses American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory. Completion of a facility‑recognized de‑escalation course within three months of hire is required. Enrollment in an appropriate Baccalaureate Degree program within two years of hire is recommended. Responsibilities Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention and safe patient handling. Provide quality care through group sessions, supporting patient safety and positive outcomes. Conduct ongoing patient assessments to enhance care quality and communicate findings effectively to the healthcare team. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. Document patient activities and quality monitoring accurately to ensure compliance with quality standards. Communicate clearly with patients and families to promote understanding and support health outcomes. Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability. Adapt positively to changes within the healthcare environment and pursue continuous professional development. Mental and Physical Requirements This position requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 pounds, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.
