Forklift Operator Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous warehouse training or powered industrial truck training is beneficial.

Forklift Operator Experience Requirements

• Experience operating forklifts or other powered industrial equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ability to load, unload, move, stack, and organize palletized materials.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and safe equipment operation.
• Ability to accurately identify inventory, shipping documentation, and storage locations.
• Strong attention to detail, dependable attendance, and commitment to workplace safety.

Forklift Operator Job Duties

• Safely operate a sit-down forklift to move products and materials throughout the warehouse
• Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers
• Transport, stack, put away, and replenish palletized inventory
• Pull, stage, and prepare customer orders for shipment
• Verify product quantities, labels, and shipment information for accuracy
• Use RF scanners or warehouse systems to track inventory movement
• Perform daily forklift inspections and report equipment or safety concerns
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all warehouse safety procedures
• Support shipping, receiving, and general warehouse operations as needed

Forklift Operator Physical Capabilities

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and climb on and off powered industrial equipment throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift, move, or reposition materials weighing up to 50 pounds when required.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts in busy warehouse and manufacturing environments.
• Ability to maintain awareness of surrounding personnel, equipment, and inventory while operating powered industrial vehicles.

What You Will Do


As a Forklift Operator you will safely operate forklifts to load, unload, transport, stack, and organize materials throughout warehouse and manufacturing operations. You will inspect equipment before use, replenish inventory locations, support shipping and receiving activities, verify product movement, maintain inventory accuracy, and help ensure safe, efficient material handling throughout the facility.

A Forklift Operator helps maintain efficient warehouse operations by safely moving products between receiving storage, production, and shipping areas. This role requires equipment operation skills, organizational ability, and safe work habits.


The Forklift Operator combines forklift operation with inventory awareness and warehouse procedures to help ensure products are moved accurately and efficiently throughout daily operations.
