Trading Systems Engineer

Position We are looking to hire a strong Java mid-level Engineer for the FX trading business in NY. Responsibilities Create Java-based applications and systems from conceptualization to implementation, focusing on scalability, security, and performance. Write well-designed, efficient, and testable code using the Java programming language and relevant frameworks. Conduct thorough testing (including unit tests) and debug applications to identify and resolve issues, ensuring smooth operation. Perform maintenance updates and occasional support as needed. Work with other software developers, product owners, and QA engineers to understand requirements and deliver comprehensive applications. Create operational manuals, system specifications, and other documentation to guide users and developers. Requirements Proficiency in Java with 8+ years of experience writing clean, optimized code. Excellent knowledge of data structures and algorithms. Experience with trading systems development. Experience with Spring Boot, messaging frameworks and caches. Familiarity with working with relational databases to manage data transactions. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to tackle complex technical challenges. Ability to create APIs for various applications and systems. Cloud experience. Nice to Have Experience with Kafka, Solace, Redis. Experience writing latency sensitive code. Career Stage Senior Associate Compensation and Benefits LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and Benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $113,900 - $189,900. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP/“bonus plan”). Target AIP rates will be commensurate with role level and posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience.
