Role Summary Per Diem Certified Medical Assistant – focuses on patient preparation, charting, and assisting clinicians during examinations at our Federal Way, Renton, Olympia, and Poulsbo clinics. Responsibilities Cover shifts as needed across multiple clinics. Greet patients, obtain vital signs, review medications, allergies, and history. Assist clinicians during patient examinations and treatments. Provide patient education and ensure comfort. Set up and assist in procedures. Dispense medications and supplies as ordered. Perform ancillary tests such as rapid testing, blood draws, and routine lab procedures. Prepare specimens for laboratory testing and manage documentation. Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, clinic spaces, equipment, and stockrooms; perform routine equipment maintenance and sterilization. Ensure rooms and lab areas stocked; maintain inventory and reorder supplies. Assist with clinic and clinician schedules to maximize efficiency. Collaborate with Patient Care Coordinators to review visit schedules; support daily clinical huddles. Ensure accurate record-keeping in EMR; follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules. Participate in team meetings; contribute to patient care and workflow improvements. Qualifications Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with active Washington State certification through DOH (CMA or Interim Certified). High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to work at least two shifts per month; flexibility to cover varying clinic shifts. Availability to work Saturday shifts highly preferred. Ability to travel between clinics as needed. Experience using EPIC (preferred). Demonstrated clinical expertise and proficiency in clinical procedures. Proficiency in EMR systems. Excellent communication; ability to gather history and conditions from patients. Independent decision-making and ability to work autonomously or with a team. Ability to exercise judgment with confidential information. Basic Life Support (BLS) training strongly preferred; willingness to obtain within 6 months (from AHA, Red Cross, MTN). Physical Requirements Ability to stand for long periods and move within clinic. Ability to exert up to 25 lbs of force occasionally or frequently to move objects. Ability to use keyboard and communicate clearly. Vaccine Requirement All teammates must provide proof of or complete a written attestation of a religious or medical exemption for influenza and Hepatitis B vaccines. Healthcare providers may also be subject to CDC recommended vaccines.
