Description

American Traveler is hiring a Maternal Fetal Medical Sonographer with 2+ years of MFM perinatal scanning experience for a Denver clinic assignment.

Details

• Maternal Fetal Medicine outpatient clinic setting
• Performs perinatal ultrasound procedures using high frequency sound waves to evaluate internal organs and vessels for diagnosis of disease in utero
• Day shift, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 40 hours weekly
• May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications
• May be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of MFM perinatal scanning experience required
• Associate's Degree required
• ARRT-Sonography (S) or ARDMS-Fetal Echocardiography (FE) certification required
• AHA BLS required and must not expire prior to start date
• License required if applicable
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy preferred
• NT certification preferred
• Fetal ECG certification preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn relevant applications
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively within a multi-functional team
• Ability to function in a fast paced, service oriented environment

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, obtaining informed consent, reviewing patient history, selecting proper protocols, and positioning patients for exams
• Explains examination methods to patients and communicates physician instructions and observations
• Reviews and evaluates completed tests for quality, completeness, and correct test type
• Ensures quality images and coordinates preparation of images/exams and documentation for physician partners
• Documents and communicates patient information thoroughly and accurately
• Ensures safe and effective handoff between shifts through clear communication
• Monitors equipment reliability and safety, reporting issues or service needs
• Orders and stocks supplies, cleans rooms and equipment to maintain work environment
• Transports patients as needed
• Participates in quality initiatives including patient satisfaction and workflow improvement
• Returning permanent staff must be separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before eligibility for a travel assignment
