Maintenance Technician

Job SummaryThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for achieving a high level of reliability for plant equipment through performing tasks required to maintain equipment and minimize downtime. Performs system maintenance, troubleshoots equipment, makes repairs and identifies opportunities for improvement.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPromotes a safe working environment and adheres to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures, company safety rules, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) in line with the company’s objectives and policies at all timesComplies with OSHA Safety requirementsPerforms daily equipment checksUnderstands and uses lockout/tag-out proceduresWorking with Line Leader, tracks, plans, and initiates changeoversPrepares and maintains accurate and timely documentation including changeover logs, cleaning logs, machine maintenance logs and other department reportsReports downtime when assigned to a lineReports any equipment malfunctions or other abnormal condition to Maintenance Manager and/or General ManagerMaintain production machines and general facilities.Coordinate work with outside services as required.Purchase parts and maintain inventories as required.Machine set up and tear down.Machine troubleshooting.Trouble shoot electrical control panels.Equipment installation and uninstall.Equipment repair.Interface with co-workers on any project.Organize and prioritize tasks.Conduct preventative maintenance.Ensure work areas are in conformance with Good Manufacturing Practices.Performs Preventative Maintenance (PM) on assigned production equipmentMaintains a clean, neat, and safe work areaWorks well in a team environmentAdheres to all Company safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsWorks scheduled shifts with predictable and reliable attendance, adhering to department schedulePerforms various special projects and other duties as assignedQualificationsRequiredHigh School Diploma or GED3 years’ experience in a maintenance mechanic role, preferably in an FDA regulated manufacturing industryAbility to read and understand mechanical/electrical drawingsWorking ConditionsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
