Position Overview

The senior construction project engineer plays a critical role in supporting successful project execution by partnering with project managers, superintendents, estimators, subcontractors, vendors, and clients. This position provides hands-on involvement across project administration, cost management, scheduling, procurement, documentation, and field coordination. Successful candidates will have experience working in a fast-paced construction environment and understand how to balance technical requirements, project timelines, budgets, safety expectations, and client relationships. Depending on project size and complexity, senior project engineers may take ownership of specific project components or lead smaller projects while continuing to develop project management expertise.

Qualifications & Experience

Successful candidates typically bring:

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, landscape architecture, or a related field preferred; equivalent construction experience considered.
• 3+ years of construction project engineering experience, preferably supporting commercial, heavy civil, infrastructure, utilities, transportation, or complex construction projects.
• Experience with construction documentation, project controls, cost tracking, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and field operations.
• Experience with estimating, quantity takeoffs, budgeting, or change order management is highly desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction project management software.
• Valid California driver's license and clean driving record.
