Experience documenting complex applications, business processes, system requirements, workflows, and technical specifications. Experience working with Business Analysts, Developers, Solution Architects, QA resources, and business stakeholders. Experience working within an Agile/Scrum development environment. Strong technical writing, editing, and communication skills. Ability to take complex technical and business information and develop clear, organized, and easy-to-understand documentation. Experience developing and maintaining documentation throughout the software development lifecycle. Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint. Experience with Azure DevOps or similar project and documentation management tools. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple documentation tasks and deadlines. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with technical and business teams. Preferred Skills: Experience supporting application modernization, system replacement, or legacy system migration projects. Experience documenting data migration, data mapping, APIs, system integrations, reporting, and cloud-based applications. Experience with AWS Cloud environments. Experience with.NET applications, SQL Server, or enterprise databases. Experience documenting financial systems, payment processing, calculations, business rules, or rules-driven applications. Experience developing test documentation, UAT materials, training materials, and knowledge-transfer documentation. Experience working with State Government, K-12 education, or other public-sector organizations. Experience with School Finance, education funding formulas, grants management, or similar financial applications. Project Overview: The Technical Writer will support the Client Finance Foundation Formula Payment System Rewrite. The project will modernize the existing School Finance Foundation Formula Payment System by developing a modern, web-based solution hosted in the Client AWS Cloud. The project will include application modernization, business rules and funding calculations, payment processing, reporting, integrations, database modernization, data migration, testing, training, deployment, and post-implementation stabilization. The Technical Writer will help ensure that the business and technical knowledge developed throughout the project is accurately documented and available to Client and OA-ITSD for ongoing use and support. Duties: Work with Client business and technical stakeholders to gather information needed for project documentation. Develop and maintain technical, functional, and business documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Document system requirements, business processes, workflows, system functionality, and technical specifications. Assist with development and maintenance of the Application Design Document and other project deliverables. Document School Finance funding calculations, payment rules, adjustments, exceptions, and related business processes. Work with the Business Analyst and Solution Architect to ensure documentation accurately reflects approved requirements and system design. Document data migration processes, data mapping, data validation, interfaces, APIs, reporting, and system integrations. Develop and maintain documentation for system configuration, application functionality, security, and operational processes. Support the QA team by developing and maintaining test documentation, test scenarios, UAT materials, and related project documentation. Develop user guides, administrator guides, training materials, quick-reference materials, and knowledge-transfer documentation. Participate in requirements meetings, sprint reviews, demonstrations, testing activities, and knowledge-transfer sessions. Document approved project decisions, changes, processes, and other information needed to support the project. Review project documentation for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and readability. Maintain document version control and ensure documentation is stored in approved State repositories. Update documentation as requirements, system functionality, processes, and technical components change. Support deployment and transition activities by ensuring technical, operational, and user documentation is complete and current. Assist with post-implementation stabilization by documenting approved system changes, processes, and lessons learned. Work closely with the project team to ensure knowledge is captured throughout the project rather than waiting until the end of the implementation. Rose International
