That means when you join our team, you’re not just doing a job — you’re building your legacy and sharing in the success of the firm.A Culture of Mentorship and Collaboration: Work alongside a talented, cross-disciplinary team that values mentorship, professional development, and team success.A flex time program that empowers you to manage your schedule — because life doesn’t always fit inside 9 to 5A flexible work environment, including hybrid and remote options where possible, to support your productivity and well-beingResponsibilitiesStructural Design & Technical DeliveryLead structural design for municipal, water and wastewater, waterfront, parks and recreation, tank, and other infrastructure and building projectsPerform and review structural engineering calculations and analyses for steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and other structural systems as applicable to project needsDevelop structural plans, details, specifications, technical reports, and construction documentsEvaluate design alternatives and develop practical, constructible solutions that meet project requirementsCoordinate structural designs with architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, process, and other engineering disciplinesMaintain accountability for technical accuracy and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and QA/QC requirementsProject Execution & Construction SupportLead assigned project components through planning, design, bidding, and construction with minimal oversightMonitor scope, schedule, and budget for assigned work and proactively communicate project needs or concernsPerform field investigations to document existing structural conditions and support rehabilitation or modification projectsProvide construction-phase support, including site visits, submittal reviews, responses to RFIs, and resolution of field-related technical issuesCoordinate and review work completed by junior engineers, designers, and technical support staffClient & Team CollaborationCommunicate directly with clients and project stakeholders to coordinate deliverables, resolve technical issues, and provide project updatesLead or participate in client and project team meetingsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural solutions into overall project designsBuild technical credibility and strong client relationships through responsive communication and high-quality workSupport proposals, project pursuits, and business development activities as opportunities ariseMentorship & Professional DevelopmentMentor graduate engineers and junior staff through technical guidance, work review, and ongoing feedbackShare structural engineering knowledge and best practices across project teamsContribute to continuous improvement, quality initiatives, and technical development within the Structural teamQualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program requiredStructural engineering emphasis preferredExperienceMinimum of 4 years of relevant post-graduate structural engineering experience requiredExperience designing structural systems for buildings, municipal infrastructure, water/wastewater facilities, waterfront structures, tanks, or similar projects preferredLicensureFlorida Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license requiredMulti-state licensure may be required based on project assignmentsSkillsStrong knowledge of structural engineering principles, building codes, design standards, and construction practicesExperience performing structural calculations and developing construction documentsProficiency with structural analysis/design software and CADD/BIM platforms applicable to structural engineeringAbility to lead project components and coordinate effectively across multiple disciplinesStrong technical writing, verbal communication, and client-facing skillsEffective problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical and constructible solutionsStrong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to balance multiple project demandsAbility to mentor and provide technical guidance to junior staffUnderstanding of project scope, schedules, budgets, and the relationship between technical delivery and overall project performanceWhy MSA?Better Together: A collaborative environment that values open ideas, diversity, and authenticity.
