Learn more about CCC at .The RoleCCC is seeking a Principal Product Manager for our Outbound Subrogation product, one of the most consequential and underserved categories in the insurance economy. More than $30 billion flows through subrogation workflows every year, yet most carriers are still operating on outdated, manual processes. This role will have the opportunity to bring subrogation into the AI era, with an unprecedented scale of impact.We are relaunching this product in 2027 with the ambition of building it into a category-defining platform. You will define the product strategy, own the roadmap, shape the architecture alongside engineering and data science, and be the expert in the room when carriers evaluate what to buy. You will work with a dedicated set of development pods, significant autonomy, and close partnership with senior product leadership. This role starts as an individual contributor with a clear path to building and growing your team as the product scales.Key Responsibilities:Own and drive the product roadmap for Outbound Subrogation user experience, including prioritization of features, data capabilities, AI enhancements, and integrationsTranslate market signals, customer research, and competitive intelligence into a clear, defensible strategy you can articulate from the carrier floor to the executive teamSet and track the metrics that matter to carriers: dollars recovered, identification rate, cycle time, and other ROI signals. Be accountable for moving them.Partner with data science and engineering on topics from architecture for next-best-action and workflow design to how LLM-based capabilities like explainability are deployed and governedConduct customer research with recovery managers, subrogation adjusters, and carrier teams; get concepts in front of real users and make hard product decisions based on what you findRepresent the voice of the user in every internal product and prioritization conversation; maintain a continuous feedback loop between the field and the roadmapContribute directly to working software alongside engineers, using AI coding tools as a part of how you work - not only a manager delegating a spec, but as a builder participating in the workBuild and own the ROI case for the product: define how carriers measure value from subrogation tooling and hold the product accountable to those measuresPartner with sales, customer success, and product marketing on go-to-market execution, sales enablement materials, and carrier-facing ROI narrativesSupport active sales cycles as the product expert: show up in carrier conversations and help close deals by articulating value credibly to buyer stakeholders from operations leads to C-suiteRequirements:6+ years of product management experience in enterprise software or high-growth SaaS (preferred); Principal designation will be determined based on scope and experienceAt least one 0-to-1 product build or major relaunch in a startup or high-velocity environmentDemonstrated experience building and shipping AI-driven or data-intensive products with LLMs, scoring models, or ML pipelines as core componentsTrack record of working directly with enterprise customers and senior stakeholders to validate product direction, plan for and track adoption, and support commercial outcomesDeep experience in at least one complex, regulated vertical (insurance, fintech, healthtech, legaltech, or similar); direct subrogation or claims experience is a meaningful differentiatorComfort operating in ambiguity, with a bias toward action and learning over extensive upfront planningEven Better If YouYou are a product professional who has built and shipped a product with meaningful business outcomes. You have owned a roadmap, shipped features that changed what customers could do, made hard prioritization calls, and operated as the connective tissue between engineering, data science, customers, and commercial teams, often simultaneously.You have built credibility in a complex, regulated industry. You can earn the trust of practitioners, distinguish genuine insight from noise, and make product decisions that hold up under scrutiny. Insurance experience is a differentiator, but not required so long as you’re willing to learn the industry quickly.You work directly alongside engineers and use AI coding tools every day. You understand enough of the architecture (data pipelines, scoring models, LLM evaluation, agentic workflow design) to hold informed technical opinions and drive architectural trade-offs.You are comfortable in enterprise sales environments. You can construct a compelling ROI case, work alongside client partners in an active deal, and support the sale by making customers excited to work with you and watch your roadmap come to fruition.You have the discipline to stop work that is not driving the expected results. You define success criteria before you build, test early, and have the honesty to pause investments where the data doesn’t support a path forward.You have the wisdom to balance the work that will keep your existing customers happy and help attract the next customer segment to keep your product’s growth trajectory strong.You establish strong relationships with your customers and internal stakeholders that allow you to help understand what matters most and to garner the support you need to make tough calls and tradeoffs.
