On Call Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift Location: Bergen County, New Jersey. Responsibilities Provide nursing care to hospice patients during after‑hours, addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Respond promptly to patient calls, perform on‑site visits as needed, and manage urgent patient needs. Assess and manage pain and other symptoms, providing comfort and relief to patients. Offer guidance and emotional support to families during challenging times. Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary hospice team, including physicians, social workers, and chaplains. Maintain accurate and timely records of patient care and communication. Follow VNA Health Group's hospice best practices, ensuring compassionate and patient‑centered care, effective communication, and continuous quality improvement. Qualifications Current New Jersey registered nurse (RN) license. Minimum of 1–2 years of hospice or palliative care experience preferred. Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills. Ability to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled. Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance. Working Conditions and Physical Demands Work indoors and outdoors with clinical equipment, using a phone and computer. Client and customer contact is a primary component of the role. Compensation and Benefits In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the total compensation range for this position is USD $60,000 to USD $110,000. The offer takes into account the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate’s experience, education, skills, internal pay equity, and market conditions. The total compensation package includes base salary, overtime, bonuses, add‑on incentives, special clinical compensation, retirement plans, and all other benefits.
