Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Cerner is preferred.

Requirements:

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

Unit Details: Patient ratios: 1:4 for Tele patients; 1:5 for MedSurg patients. If a team includes both MedSurg and Tele patients, the ratio remains 1:4. Common patients include acute/chronic medical conditions, cardiac telemetry patients, stroke patients, COVID patients, forensic patients, and potential postoperative patients; non-titratable drips are used. RNs do not titrate drips; set-rate Cardizem, amiodarone, and heparin are used. GE monitors are used. RNs must be able to read and interpret all cardiac rhythms. CPAP or BiPAP may be used per RT and MD order; no ventilators. Fast-paced unit with many admissions and high acuity.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule; weekends are Sat/Sun for day shifts. Holiday requirement: 1 major & 1 minor minimum. No call, but can be placed on standby for low census; if placed on standby and called in, a 30 min response time is required.

Floating Requirements: Travelers are 1st to float. Travelers can be floated to Mercy Downtown (approx. 6.5 miles away), any MS/MST unit, ICU for MST patients, or ER for MST holds.
