About the Role

Are you a passionate clinical leader dedicated to transforming lives through exceptional behavioral healthcare? The Refuge, A Healing Place is seeking an experienced Director of Clinical Services to lead and enhance our clinical programming, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, clinical excellence, and operational success.

In this key leadership role, you will provide strategic oversight for clinical services across our residential treatment programs, lead a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, and champion evidence-based, trauma-informed practices. You will drive quality outcomes, support staff development, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and compassionate care. What You'll Do

Clinical Leadership & Operations

Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all clinical services and programming.

Lead daily clinical operations, budget management, service delivery initiatives, and strategic planning.

Serve as a member of the hospital leadership team, driving organizational success and quality patient outcomes.

Promote collaboration, accountability, efficiency, and patient-centered care across departments.

Staff Development & Supervision

Recruit, mentor, supervise, and develop therapists, social workers, and clinical staff.

Provide consultation and oversight for treatment planning, care coordination, and crisis intervention.

Ensure staff are trained in and consistently utilize evidence-based practices, including CBT, DBT, and measurement-based care. Monitor licensure, certifications, professional development, and performance management activities.

Program Development & Quality Improvement

Develop and implement evidence-based treatment programs that improve patient outcomes and support recovery

Evaluate key performance metrics, including patient satisfaction, treatment effectiveness, length of stay, and discharge success.

Conduct clinical audits to ensure quality documentation, regulatory compliance, and fidelity to treatment models.

Support strong continuity of care through effective discharge planning and community partnerships.

Compliance & Patient Safety

Ensure compliance with AHCA, DCF, CMS, state licensing, and other applicable regulatory standards.

Oversee performance improvement initiatives and quality assurance activities.

Champion best practices in patient safety, risk assessment, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention.

Ensure accurate clinical documentation and adherence to standards of care.

Community Engagement & Partnership Development

Collaborate with hospital leadership to align clinical services with organizational goals and values.

Build and maintain relationships with referral sources, healthcare providers, and community organizations.

Participate in business development efforts, educational events, and outreach initiatives to expand access to behavioral healthcare services.

Required Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
• Current independent clinical license (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, Psychologist, or equivalent).
• 4+ years of clinical experience in residential treatment and/or mental health.
• 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of CMS, CARF, and other regulatory standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• LCSW-QS or LMHC-QS strongly preferred.
• Experience with substance use treatment or other specialty behavioral health programs.
