Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Step Down Unit in Wheeling, West Virginia. This position involves providing care for patients with intermediate acuity, including those with chest pain, arrhythmias, and post-procedure management. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment.

Job Details:

• Location: Wheeling, West Virginia
• Position: Step Down Nurse
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Certificates in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification; at least 2 years of relevant clinical experience; active license willing to wait if not immediately available
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with interpreting telemetry strips and titrating drips (e.g., Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetolol, Nitro, Heparin); familiarity with in-house respiratory, IV, and pharmacy services; experience in intermediate care or step down units
• Additional Information:
  • Float rotation into telemetry or medical-surgical units may be required, with ratios up to 1:6-7
  • Night shift personnel are expected to work 4 weekend night shifts and adhere to specific scheduling policies
  • Uniform scrubs are navy blue top and bottom, navy scrub jackets, no hoodies
  • Staff must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips, titrate drips, and manage respiratory equipment managed by RT (Respironics Bipap, AirVo high flow)
  • In-house teams include IV, PICC/Midline, respiratory therapy, pharmacy 24/7 services
  • First day includes orientation with HR and precepted training on the unit
  • Strict attendance policy with no tolerance for tardies or call-offs, with compliance required for holiday scheduling
