Full-Time Podiatric Medical Assistant / Medical Scribe

We are seeking a Full-Time Podiatric Medical Assistant / Medical Scribe to support our 7-provider podiatry practice based in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

This specialized role is heavy on electronic medical record scribing and direct patient care. You will work out of our main Altamonte Springs clinic, with required short-distance travel to remote facility locations across the greater Orlando market. The ideal candidate is a fast, accurate typist with a strong grasp of medical terminology who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-provider team environment.

Job Overview

• Position Type: Full-Time

• Travel: Required (Short-distance travel to remote Orlando-area clinics)
• Core Focus: 70% Medical Scribing & Documentation / 30% Clinical Podiatric Support
• Hourly Pay Range: $16-18, based on skills & experience

Key Responsibilities

Medical Scribing & Documentation

• Accompany 7 rotating podiatrists into patient exam rooms.
• Document real-time patient histories, physical exams, and treatments.
• Record complex podiatric diagnoses, billing codes, and care plans.
• Draft e-prescriptions, lab orders, and referral letters for provider review.
• Ensure maximum accuracy in our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

Clinical Podiatric Support

• Prepare exam rooms and intake patients by recording vitals.
• Assist podiatric with in-office procedures and wound care.
• Sterilize surgical instruments and manage clinical inventory.

Travel & Logistics

• Commuter travel to regional Orlando satellite clinics as scheduled.
• Transport minor clinical supplies and mobile carts.
• Maintain a reliable vehicle and valid Florida driver's license.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of medical assistant or medical scribe experience.
• Specialty Preferred: Prior experience in podiatry, orthopedics, or wound care is a plus.
• Knowledge: Strong proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and EHR systems.
• Attributes: Excellent multitasking skills to support 7 distinct provider workflows.
• Requirements: Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential is preferred but not required. Must pass a background check & drug screening.
