Ultrasound Technician

Job Description

The Ultrasound Technician is a qualified professional responsible for delivering essential diagnostic services to patients, both inpatient and outpatient, under the direction of a Radiologist. This role involves performing abdominal, pelvic (gynecological & obstetrical), and transvaginal sonograms, along with small parts scanning (thyroid, breast, and scrotum). The technician will also conduct ultrasound-guided biopsies, drainage, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and aspirations in accordance with departmental protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of ultrasound examinations
• Conduct ultrasound-guided procedures as needed
• Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations
• Work collaboratively with Radiologists and healthcare teams
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures

Schedule

This position requires a full-time commitment with shifts scheduled from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The Ultrasound Technician must also be willing to take call as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must be a graduate of an accredited AMA school
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
• ARDMS or RDCS certification required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Experience in Echo and OB required

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
