Field Service Engineer (SDB/SEM) - Madison

Salary: $85,000 - 120,000 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for a candidate with a bachelors degree and at least 3 years of hands-on technical experience in electronic systems, including installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating advanced analytical equipment such as SEM, TEM, FIB, or comparable systems.
• We need someone with in-depth experience diagnosing and repairing ultra-high vacuum and high-voltage systems, or similar technologies.
• You should be comfortable working with customers and have strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Professional working proficiency in English is required.
• You should have a proven track record of repairing complex systems and subsystems down to component level.
• Familiarity with MS-DOS and Windows environments is required.
• You must be able to read and interpret schematics.
• Knowledge of UHV principles and related technology is important.
• You must be able to obtain a valid passport and travel regionally and internationally as needed.
• A valid drivers license is required.
• You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

• We perform on-site installation of sophisticated equipment and verify proper operation through testing procedures.
• We carry out scheduled preventive maintenance visits at customer locations.
• We diagnose issues and provide repair support for customers and other field personnel.
• We build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, system users, and internal teams.
• We travel, often on short notice, to customer sites to resolve issues or assist other field service staff.
• We complete and submit field service reports.
• We train customers and users on system maintenance.
• We provide feedback to product quality teams.
• We contribute written updates and corrections to system documentation.
• We help identify and isolate unresolved system problems in reports.
• We serve as a subject matter expert and training resource.
