Special Education Teacher - Mooresville, North Carolina

Job Description

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by supporting their academic growth and development as a Special Education Teacher. This contract opportunity is located near Mooresville, NC, and offers a chance to work in dynamic school environments where your expertise will be highly valued. Multiple positions are available: 3rd-5th grade resource/inclusion teacher, 6th-8th grade resource/inclusion teacher, and an elementary self-contained classroom teacher. Experience working with students with significant Autism in a self-contained setting is highly sought after, and applicants with this background will be given special consideration.

What you’ll bring:

Valid state Special Education teaching certification
Experience working as a Special Education Teacher within resource, inclusion, or self-contained classroom settings
Proven ability to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
Passion for fostering independence, social skills, and academic progress in students with disabilities
Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multi-disciplinary teams
Expertise in implementing IEPs and maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations

Your responsibilities will include:

Delivering instruction and intervention for students in 3rd-5th and 6th-8th grade resource/inclusion classes or an elementary self-contained classroom
Creating individualized lesson plans tailored to each student’s unique strengths and needs
Collecting data, tracking student progress, and documenting goals within IEP frameworks
Collaborating with general education teachers and support staff to promote inclusion and student success
Utilizing evidence-based strategies to support students with significant Autism, particularly in self-contained classrooms
