Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical Med/Surg unit position requiring an active IL RN license and at least three years of relevant nursing experience.

Details

• Work on a Surgical Medical/Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 hours per week across three 12-hour shifts
• Weekend and holiday shifts on a rotating basis
• May float to other Carle Health facilities including Carle Health Methodist Hospital, Young Minds, Carle Health Pekin Hospital, and Carle Health Proctor Hospital
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing required
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Strong critical thinking and independent judgement skills required
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Basic computer proficiency including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and web browsers
• Demonstrated multicultural sensitivity

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team using the nursing process
• Assess patient status, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient progress throughout each shift
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care from admission through discharge
• Perform bedside lab testing and quality control in compliance with hospital policies
• Advocate for patients and communicate effectively with physicians and team members
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility as no local candidates will be considered
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days within the 13-week contract
• Candidates must take a 6-month break in service after 1 year of continuous assignment at Carle Health before returning
