Student Representative, University Relations Job Title Student Representative, University Relations Department Department Development Office Administration Terms and Hours Min. 6 hrs/wk Job Category Student Employment Hourly Wage Portland Metro Minimum Wage ($16.80) Job Summary Student Representatives provide administrative support to the Office of Advancement & University Relations staff. Our offices are located in Waldschmidt Hall; we are a complex team of 20+ staff members who raise funds for the University. Administrative skills, ability to prioritize and work with deadlines, strong editing and computer skills are all needed to be successful in this position. Student Representative will also need the flexibility to assist with several University events each year. Minimum 6 – 8 hours per work week of availability is requested; priority for helping to staff evening or weekend work events. This job could continue through the summer if student has easy access to campus. Core Duties Provide administrative/clerical support to the Office of Advancement & University Relations including filing, mailing, copying, and campus errands Ability to take on a variety of projects from various staff members that may include mail merges, sending out mailings, complex copying projects, and data entry Assist staff with special events that are sponsored by University Relations; may include event preparation, event staffing, and post-event duties as assigned Assist Advancement staff in annual scholarship thank-you letter project; requires editing skills, extreme attention to detail, and data entry Ability to communicate in a professional manner with donors and high-level members of the University community Driving Golf Cart to support event logistics Other relevant duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Desire to work in an office setting and learn new skills Some experience in Microsoft Word or Excel Strong writing and editing skills (Note: may be asked to complete small editing project if called to an interview) Works well within a team environment and clearly communicates work/project progress to "tag-team" with other student employees Ability to work in a self-directed environment Outgoing personality and comfort interacting with high level donors and UP staff members Preferred Qualifications Preferred, but not required: Willingness to be Green Dot trained; suggested training would be provided Physical Requirements N/A Posting Number SE1064-2023 Number of Vacancies 2 Estimated Start Date 08/25/2026 Open Date 07/28/2026 Close Date 09/22/2026 Supplemental Questions Required fields are indicated with an asterisk (*).
