About the Role

The Company is in search of a Chief Legal Officer to spearhead its legal function, with a focus on commercial contracting, corporate governance, litigation, and strategic stakeholder relationships. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the contract lifecycle, including the negotiation and closure of various commercial agreements. This role also involves overseeing outside counsel, preparing and representing the company in board meetings, and providing legal counsel on a range of corporate matters. The Chief Legal Officer will be a key leader in the company, advising on corporate strategy, M&A, financing, and regulatory issues, and will be instrumental in building and mentoring an internal legal team. Applicants for the Chief Legal Officer position at the company should hold a J.D. and have a minimum of 12 years' legal experience, with a strong preference for those with prior CLO or GC experience. The role requires a candidate with a proven track record in negotiating commercial and SaaS contracts, as well as direct experience in presenting to and advising a Board of Directors. Experience in fintech, lending, mortgage servicing, or related regulated industries is a plus. The ideal candidate will have excellent judgment, communication skills, and executive presence, and be adept at managing complex, high-stakes relationships. Responsibilities also include overseeing litigation and employment matters, and managing the legal aspects of the company's growth and expansion.
