About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: NC or compact license Certifications: Basic Life Support Must-Have: Cerner experience IV competency Description: Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for monitoring and assessing patient conditions. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation. Assist with patient education and discharge planning. Participate in quality improvement initiatives. Demonstrate strong patient advocacy skills. Must be able to manage a busy floor and maintain patient ratios of 1:6. Additional tasks may include floating to surgical, neuro, and intermediate care as needed. Must be a team player and support colleagues in a fast-paced environment. Common diagnoses may include COPD exacerbation, GI bleed, diabetic complications, and sepsis. Wound care and end-of-life care experience are essential.
