THRYVE of Crestwood is seeking an experienced and dependable Housekeeping Director to oversee all aspects of the housekeeping and laundry departments. The Housekeeping Director is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The Director will work closely with nursing and other departments to coordinate services and support quality resident care.

• Plan, organize, staff, and supervise the daily operations of the housekeeping and laundry departments.

• Develop and maintain cleaning schedules to ensure all areas of the facility meet cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards.

• Coordinate housekeeping and laundry services with nursing and other departments to minimize disruption to residents.

• Oversee cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing, floor care, and cleaning of bathrooms, fixtures, furniture, and common areas.

• Ensure proper handling, collection, and disposal of waste materials.

• Monitor inventory and oversee ordering of cleaning supplies, chemicals, linens, and equipment.

• Ensure staff are properly trained in safety precautions, PPE use, infection control, and chemical handling procedures.

• Conduct routine inspections of resident rooms, common areas, laundry areas, and other facility spaces.

• Identify and report maintenance, safety, and environmental concerns to appropriate leadership.

• Maintain accurate housekeeping records, schedules, inspections, and other required documentation.

• Ensure compliance with infection control procedures, OSHA standards, HIPAA, and facility policies and procedures.

• Report accidents and incidents promptly and complete required documentation.

• Participate in disaster preparedness drills, surveys, inspections, and other regulatory activities as needed.

• Provide leadership, coaching, and performance feedback to housekeeping and laundry staff.

• Perform other duties as assigned by facility leadership.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Prior supervisory or management experience in housekeeping, environmental services, or laundry preferred.

• Healthcare, skilled nursing, long-term care, or institutional housekeeping experience strongly preferred.

• Strong leadership, organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to follow and communicate oral and written instructions, including proper mixing and handling of cleaning chemicals.

• Knowledge of infection control, sanitation, and environmental safety practices.

• Compassionate and professional approach when working with residents, families, and staff.

• Ability to work cooperatively with an interdisciplinary team and maintain a positive work environment.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Must be physically and mentally capable of performing the essential duties of the position.

• Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or move items and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Must be capable of standing, bending, walking, reaching, and performing physical tasks for extended periods.

• Must be able to tolerate the physical and emotional demands of the position.

• May be required to assist with resident evacuation during emergency situations.
