Euclid Hospital’s Emergency Department features 16 private beds and a customized split-flow process that allows for expedited patient care and reduced wait times. Caregivers in Euclid Hospital’s ED provide care to all patient populations and work collaboratively to make each patient’s visit as comfortable and stress-free as possible. Euclid Hospital’s ED is focused on employee engagement, teamwork and caregiver collaboration. As Assistant Nurse Manager, you will support the nurse manager by providing clinical supervision and unit coordination. This position offers a great way to gain extensive leadership experience while continuing to provide the best support and treatment possible. 

\n

\n

A caregiver in this position works nights from 11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. or 9:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. with on-call, weekend and holiday rotation requirements.

\n

\n

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

\n

\n
• Supervise and coordinate unit clinical operations.  
\n

\n

\n
• Provide patient care.  
\n

\n

\n
• Facilitate communication and collaboration among unit caregivers and other departments/units.  
\n

\n

\n
• Review major operational patient care issues with Nurse Managers.  
\n

\n

\n
• Provide ongoing clinical evaluations of caregivers, counsel caregivers on performance issues, administer initial corrective actions and monitor attendance issues. 
\n

\n

\n
• Interview, select and orient new caregivers.  
\n

\n

\n
• Prepare work schedules to ensure adequate coverage on all shifts.  
\n

\n

\n
• Participate in and support quality improvement projects, outcomes, studies and research initiatives.  
\n

\n

\n
• Assume responsibilities of the Nurse Manager in their absence.  
\n

\n

\n

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

\n

\n
• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing  
\n

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN)
\n

\n

\n
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) 
\n

\n

\n
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross  
\n
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department.
\n

• Two years of recent clinical nursing experience  
\n

\n

\n
• Strong demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills  
\n

\n

\n

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Leadership experience
\n

\n \n

Physical Requirements:

\n

\n
• Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
\n
• Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
\n
• Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
\n
• Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.
\n
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
\n
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
\n

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

\n

\n

Minimum hourly: $39.50

\n

\n

Maximum hourly: $59.60

\n
