Together, we're improving health and improving lives.Labcorp is seeking a Technologist Trainee to join our Molecular Diagnostics team in Westborough, MA.Work Schedule: Tuesday -Saturday 12:00 PM - 8:30 PMJob Responsibilities:Receive patient samples into the lab for extractionsPerform automated and manual DNA extractions from patient samplesMonitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionalityMaintain internal documentation for all steps of the processes as outlined in SOPsTroubleshoot assays and reagent qualification issuesContribute to ongoing process improvement effortsCoordinate work assignments and be able to prioritize independentlyParticipate in a team approach to workflow management of the labPerform and document preventive maintenance and quality control proceduresIdentify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessaryAssist with processing of specimens when neededMaintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipmentMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical TechnologyPreferred Qualifications3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experienceASCP or AMT certificationAdditional Job StandardsIn lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirementsUnderstanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and proceduresAbility to work independently and within a team environmentProficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systemsHigh level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skillsAbility to handle the physical requirements of the positionAble to pass a standardized color blindness testFlexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needsNew Grads Welcome – Full Training ProvidedAt Labcorp we have a passion for helping people live happy and healthy lives.
