Position Line Cook (FT or PT) – The Valley Hotel, Curio by Hilton. Reports to: Executive Sous Chef, Executive Chef, Food & Beverage Director. Responsibilities Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards, use records, production and portion standards, per order specifications. Start food items in advance, ensuring quantities do not exceed estimated needs. Remember multiple orders and assemble them efficiently. Work all kitchen line stations, including broiler, sauté, fry, pantry, and expediter. Date all food containers and rotate perishables according to SOP, maintaining proper temperatures. Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull, and line set‑up. Note any out‑of‑stock items or shortages. Assist in keeping buffet stocked. Return unused food to designated storage, covering and dating perishables. Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct food‑cost problems, controlling waste, loss, and usage. Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management. Desired Skills and Qualifications Education: High school education or equivalent experience. Culinary certificate or degree preferred. Experience: Six months to one year in a food or beverage services environment. Skills and Abilities: Strong knowledge of operating industrial‑sized ovens and cooking ranges. Ability to prepare a variety of cuisines, relishes, soups, and salads. Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife‑handling skills. Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food‑handling procedures. Manual dexterity to punch buttons, grasp items, and carry containers loaded with food and liquids. English literacy, both reading and speaking. Capacity to lift, push, and carry 20–40 lbs. and stand continuously for extended periods. Effective communication of information and hotel services to management, staff, and guests.
