Adecco is assisting a local client in Torrington, CT in hiring a Shipping and Receiving Associate. Work in a fast-paced, innovative environment. This is a day shift position with a starting pay rate of $22.00 per hour. If you meet the requirements below, Apply Now!Position Summary:Confirms contents of all outgoing shipments are accurate according to the Sales Order and Packing Slip details. Packages orders to ensure no damage occurs during transit. Processes orders through directed carrier. Enters all international customs documentation information accurately to ensure there are no clearance issues. Reviews all printed labels and international documentation for accuracy. Handles receiving responsibilities for incoming goods. Confirms contents of all incoming shipments are accurate according to the Purchase Order and Packing Slip details. Contacts vendors about discrepancies as needed.Primary responsibilities:Packages and ships using carrier services UPS, FedEx, and DHLPrepares domestic and international documents as neededSchedules outgoing shipments with carriersKeeps current on all state, federal, and international shipping regulations to ensure complianceManages communications to clear shipment exception detailsWorks closely with Quality to ensure incoming materials meet requirements for productionEvaluates current processes and offers recommendations for improvement and streamlining on an ongoing basisDevelops and keeps good relationships with vendorsReceives incoming deliveries accurately and efficientlyHandles RMA receiving and documents accurately in CRMMaintains proper levels of all shipping, office, and kitchen suppliesCreates and submits purchase orders for shipping, office, and kitchen suppliesCreates return labels for Customer Service as neededProvides accurate weights and dimensions for orders are requested by Sales and Customer ServiceManages needs of the marketing team by coordinating domestic and international shipments with preferred carriers or freight forwardersMaintains a safe, clean, and orderly working environmentOther duties and responsibilities as assignedQualifications:Minimum of 2 years' experience with domestic and international shipping and receivingMRP system experience, preferably CRM and/or Dynamics 365 Business CentralAnalytical and problem-solving skillsStrong negotiation and communication skillsSufficient in Microsoft OfficeDetail oriented with strong organizational skillsAbility to multi-task and take initiativeSelf-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a teamKnowledge of LEAN manufacturing preferredKnowledge of international shipping processes requiredAbility to life up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of timeThe Adecco benefits offerings include medical, vision, dental, life insurance, short term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and a 401k plan.
