Histotechnician / Histotechnologist (HT/HTL-ASCP) Location: Houston, TX 77030 Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4:00 AM Start Pay Range: $32 - $38/hr on W2 We are seeking an experienced Histotechnician or Histotechnologist to join a high-volume hospital laboratory. The ideal candidate will have strong routine histology skills with a focus on quality embedding, microtomy, staining, and specimen processing. Responsibilities Process, embed, section, stain, and coverslip tissue specimens according to established protocols Perform routine and special stains (AFB, Gram, MSN, Oro, etc.) Operate histology equipment including tissue processors, microtomes, stainers, embedding centers, and cryostats Assist with frozen sections, liver biopsies, fine needle aspirations, and fresh specimen handling Prioritize workload to meet turnaround times while maintaining quality standards Troubleshoot specimen and processing issues as needed Requirements HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) certification required Associate degree in Science or Histology Minimum 2 years of paid histology experience required Hospital or reference laboratory experience preferred Experience with special stains, frozen sections, and non-GYN cytology processing is a plus Strong communication skills and working knowledge of laboratory operations Pride Global offers eligible employee’s comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance, and hospital indemnity), 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, , legal support, auto, home insurance, pet insurance, and employee discounts with preferred vendors.
