Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to gather information on patients' trauma histories, ensuring a personalized approach to treatment.
- Craft and execute individualized treatment plans aimed at trauma recovery, focusing on reinforcement of coping mechanisms and resilience.
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to address and resolve trauma-related symptoms.
- Lead individual and group therapy sessions designed to facilitate processing of traumatic experiences and the development of effective coping strategies.
- Work closely with psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated care, enhancing the overall treatment experience for clients.
- Manage crisis situations and provide immediate support during trauma-related emergencies, demonstrating an ability to work under pressure.
- Educate patients and their families about the impacts of trauma, coping strategies, and available resources in a clear and supportive manner.
- Ensure all documentation is precise, confidential, and aligns with legal and ethical standards required for mental health practices.
- Engage in regular case consultations and attend team meetings, contributing to collective learning and the evolution of trauma-informed care practices.
- Remain informed on the latest research and methodologies regarding trauma therapy, integrating new insights into therapeutic practice.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your work will predominantly involve helping individuals experiencing the lasting effects of trauma, including PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. You will serve a diverse client base, offering a range of therapeutic solutions tailored to help each individual navigate their unique recovery journey. Engaging with patients empathetically and effectively is crucial to fostering trust and promoting successful healing outcomes.
Qualifications
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of Florida.
- A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience, preferably in a mental health setting working with trauma.
- Profound knowledge of trauma-related disorders and familiarity with trauma-informed treatment modalities.
- Proven experience delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating compassion and a non-judgmental approach to care.
- Able to maintain composure and a clear mind in high-stress situations.
- Technological proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiarity with essential computer applications.
- A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
