Engineer Software 3

We are seeking a *Software Engineer III* to support advanced Radio Frequency (RF) solutions in a dynamic engineering environment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge development efforts that support high-impact technical programs.
As part of a collaborative software engineering team, you will design, develop, and maintain high-quality software systems. You will play a key role in modernizing development practices through Agile methodologies, automation, and continuous integration approaches. Success in this role requires adaptability, strong technical skills, and a team-first mindset.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and system components
* Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, coding, testing, and integration
* Develop software for engineering, scientific, or manufacturing applications
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technical staff, and end users
* Apply established standards, processes, and tools to ensure quality and consistency
* Support system integration and troubleshooting on target hardware platforms
* Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
*Required Qualifications*
* Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline with 5+ years of experience, OR
* Master's degree with 3+ years of experience, OR
* Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

* Experience with object-oriented programming in *C++*
* Experience developing *graphical user interfaces (GUI)*
* Familiarity with *software architecture, design patterns, and object-oriented design principles*
* Experience working with *relational databases and SQL*
* Experience developing applications on *Windows operating systems*
* Understanding of *software development methodologies* such as Agile and/or Waterfall
* Experience with version control tools (e.g., Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, ClearCase)
* Familiarity with Agile planning tools (e.g., Jira, Rally)
* U.S. Citizenship required
* Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
*Preferred Qualifications*
* Experience with *modern C++ (C++11 or newer)*
* Familiarity with scripting languages such as *Python, Bash, or Batch*
* Experience testing, debugging, and integrating software on hardware platforms
* Experience using *Qt framework* for GUI development
* Familiarity with *requirements management tools* (e.g., DOORS)
* Active security clearance is a plus
* Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

This is a Contract position based out of Rolling Meadows, IL.
*Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $100.00 - $140.00/hr.
