The OpportunityLead communication designs and coordinate with other disciplinesCreate conceptual and detailed systems designs, including producing design drawings, specifications and design analysis deliverablesCoordinate with a BIM/CAD team for drawing productionPerform quality control duties and independent technical reviews Manage assigned budgets, scopes and schedules Mentoring and providing guidance/instruction to less experienced staff membersOther potential duties: May perform fieldwork and write assessment reports May assist with creation of design guides and templates May provide support to business development or pursuit activitiePreferred QualificationsAs part of this role, you will be assigned to projects supporting U.S. Government Agency/Department clients. Due to the nature of the work, candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.  The following are preferred qualifications: Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, EIA, TIA, BICSI industry standards, codes and best practices related to the design of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), low voltage, and telecommunications systems Strong knowledge of structured cabling systems from a safety and constructability perspective Strong knowledge of inside plant (ISP) cabling infrastructure to include telecommunications spaces and pathways, copper, and optical fiber cabling and connectivityExperience in outside plant (OSP) design of copper and fiber optic communication systemsExperience in audio-visual (AV) system design4+ years of experience designing applicable telecommunication systemsRegistered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) requiredMinimum QualificationsAll applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.CertificationsRegistered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification (required) Certified Technology Specialist-Design (CTS-D) certification (preferred) Salary PlanENS: Eng & Technical SpecialtiesJob Grade016Black & Veatch endeavors to make accessible to any and all users.
