Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Engineer role based at Ann Arbor Marriott Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest in Ypsilanti, MI. The Engineer is responsible for the daily maintenance, repair, and inspection of building systems and equipment, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical components. Typical tasks include responding to service requests, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and documenting work performed to ensure safety and regulatory compliance. The role also involves assisting with event setup needs related to facility systems, supporting the upkeep of guest rooms and public areas, and coordinating with other hotel departments to minimize disruption to guests. The Engineer contributes to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient environment that aligns with Marriott standards and enhances the guest experience. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in building maintenance and engineering, including basic HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repair skills. Ability to perform preventive maintenance routines, use hand and power tools safely, and follow maintenance checklists and procedures. Knowledge of safety regulations, building codes, and hotel facility standards, with a commitment to maintaining a safe work and guest environment. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose equipment issues, prioritize tasks, and resolve problems with minimal supervision. Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with housekeeping, front office, and event staff, and to respond professionally to guest requests. Comfort working on-site in a hospitality setting, including occasional evening, weekend, or holiday shifts as operational needs require. Previous experience in hotel or commercial facility engineering is preferred; technical certification or vocational training in building maintenance or a related trade is a plus. Ability to lift and move equipment as needed, perform tasks that may require standing, walking, or climbing ladders, and adhere to Marriott and property policies. #J-18808-Ljbffr
