Purchasing Assistant / Buyer
Location: Collinsville, OK
Schedule: Day Shift, Monday–Friday
Pay: $25–$30/hour, depending on experience
We are seeking a Purchasing Assistant / Buyer for a growing company in the Collinsville area. This position will support purchasing and procurement activities to help ensure materials, supplies, and components are ordered accurately, received on time, and available to meet operational needs.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with purchasing materials, parts, supplies, and other items needed for daily operations
- Create, process, and track purchase orders
- Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and delivery schedules
- Obtain and compare vendor quotes to help identify competitive pricing and terms
- Follow up on open orders and help resolve shortages, delays, or discrepancies
- Maintain accurate purchasing and vendor records
- Coordinate with production, inventory, warehouse, and other departments regarding material needs
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with replenishment as needed
- Assist with sourcing new vendors and maintaining relationships with existing suppliers
- Verify order information, pricing, quantities, and delivery dates
- Support additional purchasing and administrative functions as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous purchasing, procurement, buying, inventory, or supply chain experience preferred
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable communicating and negotiating with vendors
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Experience with ERP/MRP or purchasing software is preferred
- Ability to manage multiple orders, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
