Manufacturing Engineer Intern

Manufacturing Intern PositionValmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Manufacturing Intern position in the NA Ops Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will be an active participant in contributing to the goals of the NA Operations Oklahoma Operations team. You will learn a tremendous amount in this role and will be given exposure to other parts of the business, including subject matter experts from a wide variety of divisions and professions. This role is ideal for a self-motivated and driven engineering/business student who has a desire to learn and grow in a manufacturing environment where your work will make a difference on a daily basis.Essential Functions:Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, HR, operations, quality and safety on projects and daily work functions.Assist in identifying and implementing solutions to improve business processes.Apply lean/manufacturing principles in order to achieve business objectives.Assist with the establishment of production standards.Work with an operations team consisting of production staff, production support, quality assurance and operations.Assist in identifying capacity constraints, quality issues, design improvements, as well as additional processes.Participate in hands-on learning experiences through project work, leadership development, job shadowing and interaction with senior leadership.Present learning and recommendations to various business leaders in both individual and group project formats.Other duties as required/assigned.Required Qualifications of Every Candidate:Enrolled in an accredited university and actively pursuing a degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering or Civil EngineeringJunior or senior standing with an anticipated graduation in the next 18 monthsCAD skills including design applications and an ability to convert drawings to 3D modelsProficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applicationsAbility to convert drawings to 3D modelsDemonstrated strong communication interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a team environmentDemonstrated problem-solving/critical thinking skillsHighly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:GPA of 3.0+BenefitsValmont offers employees and their families a comprehensive Total Wellbeing benefit package to ensure their individual and family's overall wellness needs are met.
