You'll play a key role in prepping and handling samples, keeping records accurate, and maintaining a clean laboratory to support on-time results everyday. This position will also include providing courier services to support our Anaheim location. You’ll collaborate with a strong team of committed professionals, contribute to meaningful scientific work, and grow your expertise in a dynamic, quality-driven environment.The ideal candidate will have experience in working under possibly hazardous conditions (e.g. pathogens or chemicals). They will be well-trained to maintain safety conditions and will be passionate for doing work that makes things move forward.The compensation range for this role is $18.00 - $23.00, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.Department: Sample ReceivingSchedule: 2nd Shift (2:00 pm - 10:30 pm); Monday - Friday -OR- Sunday - ThursdayTo thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:Drives the company vehicle to transport supplies, samples, and/or waste between Onterris Orange and Anaheim locations for processingReceives environmental samples into the laboratory according to SOPsPerforms data entry of sample and test information into Laboratory Information System (LIMS)Label sample containers, store them in appropriate locations and/or contact the proper department to inform them of short holding time and/or rush requests.Assists in sample bottle preparationAssists in sample management/archiving and disposalAssists in sample pickup or field sampling, if neededAssists in the coordination of daily field sampling/pickup schedule, if neededMaintains the company vehicle in optimal conditionParticipates in focus teams to improve efficiencyComply with Company’s Quality Assurance ProgramComply with Company’s Health and Safety PlanOther duties as assignedYour Expertise and SkillsThese requirements reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities that help you do your best work here.High school diploma or equivalentSome lab experience is preferred but not requiredMust have a valid driver's licenseMust be able to move and carry up to 50 lbsMust be able to remain in a stationary position for the duration of shift while performing frequent routine tasksMust have a driving record that meets the company's requirements for operating company vehicles.Preferred SkillsKnowledge of general lab practices and lab safetyAble to multi-task and communicate effectively (both oral and written)Able to work independently and make sound decisionsWell organized and have an attention to detailWork Environment and Physical RequirementsThe physical and environmental requirements below reflect what’s typically needed to perform the essential functions of this role safely and effectively.
