Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse

A Registered Nurse with the Labor & Delivery unit at Sinai Hospital will provide skilled compassionate and evidence-based care to patients throughout the full spectrum of the perinatal period in accordance with AWHONN standards and best practices. The nurse will work on a 23-bed unit that supports all levels of obstetrical care-including antepartum intrapartum high-risk labor cesarean section immediate postpartum recovery and obstetrical emergencies. The Labor and Delivery nurse plays a critical role in ensuring safety patient-centered outcomes for mothers and newborns.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive maternal and fetal assessments monitor vital signs uterine activity and fetal heart rate patterns and recognize early signs of complications.
• Care for patients with high-risk pregnancies on bedrest or undergoing treatment and provide immediate postpartum recovery care including uterine assessment pain control newborn bonding and breastfeeding support.
• Participate in rapid response during obstetrical emergencies including shoulder dystocia postpartum hemorrhage hypertensive crisis and fetal distress.

Requirements:

• Education: BSN preferred from CCNE accredited schools
• Licensure: Maryland Registered Nurse License
• Certification: American Heart Association BLS Certification ACLS & NRP are required to be obtained prior to orientation completion
• Experience: At least 1 year of L&D experience is required
