About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Med-Surg / Emergency Department (ED) Float for a 13-week contract opportunity in Kapaau, Hawaii. The RN will provide nursing care across Medical-Surgical and Emergency Department settings within a Critical Access Hospital.

This position requires flexibility to work day or night shifts based on facility needs, including weekends and holidays. Strong Epic EMR experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and provide comprehensive nursing care to patients across Medical-Surgical and Emergency Department settings.

• Recognize changes in patient condition, prioritize clinical needs, and initiate appropriate nursing and emergency interventions.

• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies while monitoring patient response and maintaining established safety standards.

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to coordinate admissions, transfers, treatment, and discharge planning.

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Epic and float between Med-Surg and Emergency Department assignments based on staffing and patient-care needs.

Requirements

• Active Hawaii Registered Nurse (RN) License Required.

• Minimum 3 Years of Relevant Registered Nursing Experience Required.

• Current BLS/BCLS Certification Required.

• Current ACLS and PALS Certifications Required.

• Strong Epic EMR Experience and Ability to Work Flexible 12-Hour Day/Night Shifts, Weekends, and Holidays Required.

The Med-Surg / Emergency Department Float RN will provide flexible, responsive, and patient-centered nursing care while supporting safe clinical outcomes in a Critical Access Hospital setting.
