Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

The position requires a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to work in a variety of settings, including inpatient care, covering all areas and floors of the facility. The therapist will provide respiratory care services to a diverse patient population, ranging from neonates to geriatric patients.

Responsibilities:

• Perform EKGs, bedside bronchoscopies, and bedside spirometry.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers and nursing staff.
• Manage ventilator settings and respiratory protocols effectively.
• Participate in team scheduling and rotate with permanent staff to cover weekend and holiday shifts as required.
• Conduct unit-specific orientation and familiarize with facility protocols and equipment.

Qualifications:

• Current certifications in BLS and ACLS required; CRT certification via NBRC is mandatory.
• Experience in handling various respiratory care equipment including Drager and Servo I ventilators, as well as Bipaps and high flow oxygen devices.
• Strong time management, flexibility, communication, and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role.

Work Environment:

The respiratory therapist will work 12-hour shifts with a focus on teamwork and collaboration among the clinical staff. The position involves adapting to various care levels and participating in a dynamic healthcare setting.

Additional Information:

Floating to different areas within the hospital may be required. The therapist will not be the only respiratory therapist in-house during shifts. The role demands an openness to learning and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
