Appellate Attorney

Responsibilities

Conduct in-depth legal research on complex legal issues.
Draft appellate briefs, legal memoranda, motions, and other persuasive legal documents.
Analyze statutes, regulations, case law, and legal precedents to support litigation strategy.
Assist attorneys with appellate matters and provide legal research support for ongoing cases.
Review trial records and identify appellate issues.
Collaborate with attorneys to develop legal arguments and case strategies.
Ensure all filings comply with applicable court rules and deadlines.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in Nebraska, or eligibility to practice in Nebraska.
Minimum of 5 years of legal experience.
Prior experience as a state or federal appellate judicial clerk is strongly preferred.
Exceptional legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Must be located in Nebraska and able to commute to the Omaha office as required.
