Sterile Processing Instrument TechnicianPosition Purpose:The Sterile Processing Instrument Technician is responsible for the cleaning, sterilization, distribution, and recording of patient reusable supplies and equipment and the decontamination and assembly of instruments for the OR and throughout the hospital and Mercy Family clinics. The Sterile Processing Instrument Technician is responsible for the OR case carts being properly setup and assures that all the instruments necessary to do the procedure are on the cart, ready for surgical use.The Sterile Processing Instrument Tech is responsible under the direction of a specific OR clinical leader in a specific area for instrument inventory, ordering, vendor and repair of instruments.What You Will Do:Cooperates and communicates with and accepts direction from the Director of Sterile Processing, Surgical Services, Sterile Processing supervisor and OR clinical leaders as it relates to the preparation and distribution of surgery supplies and case cart setups on a daily basis.Maintains an accurate inventory of supplies in work areas and assumes the responsibility for decontamination, distribution, and recording of patient reusable supplies and equipment.Responsible for the OR case carts being properly setup and assures that all the instruments necessary to do the particular case are on the cart and ready for surgical use.Responsible for the cleaning, wrapping, assembling and sterilization of all hospital and Mercy Clinic instruments and equipment.Hours/Schedule:Full time 1.0 (40 hours per week)2nd shiftMinimum Qualifications:Education:High school diploma or equivalent required with an interest in continuing education.Preferred CRCST (Certified Registered Central Supply Tech) Certificate after the 2nd year of employmentPosition Highlights and Benefits:Education Assistance offeredEffective Day 1 Benefit Package (Medical, Dental, Vision, and more) for positions 16 hours per week or greaterCompetitive wages; including weekend and night differentialsGenerous paid time off programRetirement Savings program with employer match starting on Day 1Ministry/Facility Information:MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center provides expert health care to 15 counties.MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center is a 342 bed, regional referral teaching hospital in Mason City, Iowa.
