Civil Engineer (5 to 7 yrs)

Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled, self‑motivated, technically minded Civil Engineer with 5 to 7 years of experience to apply engineering skills to a variety of challenging projects. Experience ranges from civil design projects through construction. Compensation and Benefits Expected Base Salary: $90,000 – $120,000, salary is based on experience. Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate. Competitive end‑of‑year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance. Hybrid work schedule (subject to change). 401(k) with a maximum of 5% contribution matching to a 9% employee contribution. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university. Certified Civil Engineer‑in‑Training (E.I.T.). Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred. Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in designing commercial, office, mixed‑use, multi‑family residential, educational, municipal, and/or federal projects. Strong technical skills in site layout, grading and drainage, and site utility design. Technical experience with hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, technical studies, mapping documents, preparation and processing of public improvement and grading plans, and earthwork calculations. Ability to prepare Hydrology Studies, Stormwater Quality Management Plans (SWQMPs), and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs). Experience working in the City and County of San Diego preferred. Experience coordinating with a multidisciplinary design team. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, including surfaces and pipe networks. Specification preparation experience preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
