Software Developer

Seeking a Developer intern, ideal for current college students or recent graduates, to support release verification and contribute to a shift-left automation strategy for in-house enterprise applications using technologies such as Spring Framework 6, Java 17, and IBM FileNet. The role offers a flexible schedule around class commitments and a hybrid work model based in Phoenix, Arizona. Responsibilities:

• Support release verification activities including smoke and regression validation, release readiness checks, and documenting results.
• Create, review, and maintain test cases aligned with user stories, acceptance criteria, and risk areas.
• Build and expand automated tests using Java, JUnit, Selenium, and Cucumber (BDD).
• Collaborate early with developers to clarify requirements, identify test scenarios, and promote testability and quality gates ("shift-left" approach).
• Improve test assets and framework components such as page objects, step definitions, test data utilities, and reusable helpers.
• Analyze test failures and support defect triage with clear reproduction steps, logs, screenshots, and root-cause analysis.
• Contribute to documentation and continuous improvement efforts including test strategy notes, coverage tracking, and regression checklists.

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of Java and Object-Oriented Programming concepts (coursework or projects acceptable); familiarity with Spring Boot preferred.
• Basic understanding of software testing concepts including unit testing with JUnit and defect lifecycle.
• Foundational database testing skills and SQL familiarity; experience with Oracle or MongoDB is a plus.
• Exposure to build tools such as Maven.
• Basic scripting knowledge in at least one language (Bash/Shell, PowerShell, or Python).
• Comfortable learning and collaborating in an Agile environment.
• Authorized to work in the US without current or future visa sponsorship.
• Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Arizona.
• Own personal laptop required; a Windows workstation will be provided for remote ASRS access.

• Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, and GitHub Actions, and artifact repositories like Nexus.
• Basic familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes.
• Experience with Cucumber (BDD/Gherkin) and Selenium UI automation principles including locators and page objects.
• Fundamentals of performance and load testing tools like JMeter, Performance Center, or LoadRunner.
• Basic understanding of application security concepts and OWASP Top 10; familiarity with security tools such as Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Nessus, Veracode, or AppScan.
• Interest or experience using AI/ML tools (large language models) to optimize testing or CI/CD workflows.
• Experience with MyBatis, Tomcat, or IBM FileNet workflows.

• Must be authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

• Location: Phoenix, AZ 85012 (hybrid work model).
• Duration: 6-month internship.
• Hours: 20 40 hours per week, flexible to accommodate college class schedules.
