Surgical Technologist - Proctor

Role Overview Provides surgical technology support for direct and indirect patient care, assisting surgeons during operative and invasive procedures. Acts as a resource for peers, mentors, and students, and may serve as an informal lead technologist. Demonstrates proficiency in preparing for surgeries, setting up sterile fields, and handling instruments and equipment efficiently. Key Responsibilities Prepares surgical cases, ensures equipment readiness, and collaborates with surgeons to meet procedural needs. Performs scrub, first assist, and case closing activities, while anticipating intraoperative events and adapting as necessary. Mentors staff and students, promoting best practices and critical thinking. Communicates effectively, participates in quality improvement, and supports team operations. Qualifications & Skills Holds a Surgical Technology certificate or associate's degree, and BLS certification within 30 days. Must demonstrate technical competence, adaptability, and strong communication skills. Availability for on-call hours and a proactive approach to case management are essential. #J-18808-Ljbffr
