Engineering Technician I (Tier 1)

Location: Still Waters Resort

Position Summary

The Engineering Technician I supports the daily maintenance operations of the resort by performing entry-level repairs, preventive maintenance, and guest service tasks. This role is highly guest-facing and requires a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Complete assigned work orders in a timely and professional manner, prioritizing guest-related issues
Perform routine maintenance in guest rooms, including:
- Replacing light bulbs, batteries, and air filters
- Fixing minor plumbing issues (clogs, slow drains, leaking faucets)
- Adjusting doors, locks, hinges, and basic hardware
Assist with preventive maintenance programs for:
- HVAC units (filter changes, visual inspections)
- Appliances (microwaves, refrigerators, dishwashers)
Support upkeep of resort amenities, including pools, hot tubs, and common areas:
- Clean surfaces, remove debris, and report irregularities
- Monitor water conditions under supervision
Respond to guest calls (e.g., AC not cooling, TV issues, maintenance concerns) with professionalism and urgency
Transport tools, equipment, and materials safely throughout the property
Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance shop, storage rooms, and work areas
Follow all company safety policies, including proper use of PPE and lockout/tagout awareness (as trained)
Escalate complex issues to higher-level technicians

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required
0–2 years of general maintenance, construction, or related experience preferred
Valid driver's license (if required for property vehicles)
Basic familiarity with tools, equipment, and safe handling practices

Skills & Competencies

Strong customer service and communication skills
Willingness to learn multiple trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical)
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
Dependability and punctuality

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Comfortable using ladders and basic maintenance equipment
