About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours (08:30 - 19:00) Experience: Minimum 2 years in acute hospital with ICU background preferred License: Active Nursing License required Certifications: - ACLS - BLS Must-Have: Conscious sedation certification highly preferred Description: Experience in endoscopy required. Hardstop sedation experience necessary. Proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Travel nurses must be comfortable in all areas and float as required. Intake area nurse to patient ratio is 1:1. Sedation area nurse to patient ratio is 1:1. Post-procedure area nurse to patient ratio is 1:2. CRNAs are available for patients requiring MAC sedation. Candidate must be able to function independently in a tech role with the provider. Position requires experience outside of typical circulating duties. Comfortable setting up procedure rooms and assisting physicians interprocedurally. Sedation is strongly preferred. Proficient in the flow of a hospital-based endoscopy department, including intake, recovery, and sedation. Strongly prefer candidates with experience in high volume, high acuity settings. Experience with portable and bedside travel cases is essential. Familiarity with Epic charting system is required. Float required within endoscopy procedural and pre/post area. 1-2 weekend and holiday shifts per month may be required. References required at submittal. Modules will be non-billable and completed pre-start. Additional training may be necessary for those working in specific areas. This position is open to candidates with a background in pediatrics and geriatrics. Roles may include administering conscious sedation and airway management. Daily census numbers and patient age groups range widely. Candidate must be prepared for a demanding and fast-paced environment. Team-oriented approach is essential for success in this role.
