Essential Job Function: Reviews patient needs and conditions to deliver nursing care in assigned unit to ensure that every patient receives the direct and proper care needed. Analyzes patient information, including medical history, diagnostic results, and current condition, to develop individualized nursing care plans. Prepares nursing processes, such as medication administration and treatments to provide comprehensive and effective patient care. Reconciles medical records to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. Evaluates patient response to interventions and identifies any additional interventions needed to meet defined goals of care. Collaborates with interdisciplinary care team to ensure effective care planning. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: Required: Associate's degree in nursing. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in nursing.

Experience: Required: 1 year as a registered nurse. Preferred: 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations.

Licensure/Certification/Listing: Required: Registered nurse license in North Carolina or a compact state. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA healthcare provider.

Shift: Day 3x12-hour (07:00 - 19:00)

Additional Unit Information: Interdisciplinary support: IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, unit secretary

Patient Diagnoses: Chest pain, stable STEMI, NSTEMI, pre and post cardiac cath lab with and without intervention. New onset and chronic A-fib. Tikosyn load. Pre and post EP lab for pacemaker and or ICD placement. Secondary population is new onset and chronic heart failure. Overflow for other progressive care level patients

Special Procedures/Unit Details: Focus on the cardiac patient (ex. Acute coronary syndrome, pre and post cardiac catheterization with and without intervention, rule out myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, syncope)

Special Equipment: TR bands, central lines, PICC lines, CVP monitoring
