Graduate Assistant

Position Summary The Enrollment Management office of Events and Visits at Niagara University invites applications for a personable and efficient graduate assistant to join our leadership team. We are seeking a Graduate Assistant of Enrollment Events and Visitor Experience. This key position fosters positive relationships with area high schools and community based organizations by developing events and visits for college bound students, manages an undergraduate student staff, maintains and regulates efficiencies of the admissions operations office and assists in the development of undergraduate admissions events. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Coordinates high school group visit requests such as communicating, coordinating, intake and execution of groups and ensuring a holistic visit to campus for college bound students. Coordinates with prospective students and families in planning visits to campus. Oversees and manages the student employees in the admissions student operations room, assigning various tasks and ensuring they are completed. Ensures customer service is properly conducted and that projects and tasks are completed as needed. Assists in the development and implementation of training for student room employees. Training involves instruction on how to complete various tasks within the student room while also maintaining a safe, productive, and positive work environment. Evaluates student room employees on their ability to perform tasks, affinity for teamwork, and general morale while working. Provides assistance with the logistics and coordination of events. Attends weekly staff meetings to discuss upcoming events, marketing, tour guide conduct, and tour guide training. Collaborates with campus faculty to provide prospective students with specialized information about educational programs, campus initiatives, and general supportive information. Tracks budgets, inventory, ordering of literature and giveaways. This position covers many aspects of the visitor experience at Niagara University along with various tasks, projects and duties as assigned to assist this area of Enrollment Management. Qualifications Must be admitted into Niagara University’s graduate program School Counseling, MBA, or MA Interdisciplinary Studies. Must be able to interact effectively with internal and external students, parents, staff, and faculty. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced changing environment. Proficient in Google Workspace, preferred proficiency in SLATE. Must have general knowledge of campus information. Work Environment / Physical Demands Mix of office and campus walking with roles ranging from day to day. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods. Occasional lifting of materials (up to 50 lbs). #J-18808-Ljbffr
